renal corpuscle
The renal corpuscle is the initial part of the kidney's filtering system. It consists of a tiny network of blood vessels called the glomerulus, which filter blood to remove waste and excess fluids. Surrounding the glomerulus is a capsule called Bowman's capsule, which collects the filtered fluid, known as filtrate. This process forms the foundation for producing urine. The renal corpuscle plays a crucial role in how the kidneys clean blood and maintain the body's fluid and electrolyte balance.
