renal colic

Renal colic is a type of severe pain caused when a kidney stone blocks the flow of urine from the kidney to the bladder. This blockage increases pressure inside the kidney, irritating surrounding tissues and nerves. The pain often feels intense, sharp, and comes in waves, typically starting in the back or side and radiating to the groin or lower abdomen. It may be accompanied by hematuria (blood in the urine), nausea, or sweating. The condition requires medical evaluation to diagnose the stone and determine appropriate treatment, which might include pain management, hydration, or procedures to remove the stone.
