Rectal Prolapse

Rectal prolapse occurs when part of the rectum, the final section of the large intestine, slips out of its normal position and protrudes through the anal opening. This condition can happen due to weakening of the pelvic muscles and tissues, often caused by factors like chronic constipation, heavy lifting, or childbirth. Symptoms may include a visible bulge, discomfort, and difficulties with bowel movements. While it can affect individuals of any age, it's more common in older adults. Treatment options vary and may include lifestyle changes, physical therapy, or surgical intervention, depending on the severity.
