Unlike typical conservatism, which might advocate for gradual change, reactionaries often oppose modern developments—such as progressive social changes or political reforms—believing they erode traditional values. They aim to restore aspects of the past, whether in culture, politics, or economics, and often express skepticism about the benefits of modernity, focusing instead on a perceived lost order or stability.
