Ravi River
The Ravi River is a significant river in South Asia, primarily flowing through northern India and Pakistan. It is about 720 kilometers (447 miles) long and is one of the five rivers of the Punjab region, which means “Land of Five Rivers.” The river originates in the Himalayas, near the Rohtang Pass in India. It flows southwest through various towns and agricultural areas, eventually joining the Chenab River in Pakistan. The Ravi is crucial for irrigation and supports local agriculture, but it faces challenges such as pollution and water disputes between India and Pakistan.
