Rate Pressure Product

The Rate Pressure Product (RPP) is a measure used to estimate the workload on the heart. It’s calculated by multiplying the heart rate (how many times the heart beats per minute) by the systolic blood pressure (the pressure in arteries when the heart beats). Essentially, RPP reflects how much oxygen the heart muscle needs during activity. Higher values indicate the heart is working harder and requires more oxygen, which can help assess heart health and the risk of cardiac problems during exercise or stress.
