Rare Earth Hypothesis

The Rare Earth Hypothesis suggests that Earth’s ability to support complex life is rare in the universe because it depends on a highly unlikely combination of factors. These include the right location in the galaxy, a stable star similar to the Sun, a protective planetary system, the presence of necessary elements, the right planet size, and a history of rare events like asteroid impacts. While microbial life might be common, the conditions for intelligent, complex life are thought to be so specific that Earth could be one of the few planets where such life exists.
