Rajneesh Movement
The Rajneesh Movement, also known as Osho Movement, was founded by Indian spiritual teacher Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (later known as Osho) in the 1970s. It promoted meditation, personal growth, and spiritual awakening through teachings blending Eastern philosophies and Western ideas. The movement attracted many followers worldwide and established communities, most notably in Oregon, USA, where they created a commune called Rajneeshpuram. The movement faced controversy over its practices, leadership, and legal issues, including a bioterror attack in 1984. Today, it remains active, emphasizing meditation, mindfulness, and individual spirituality.
