
Rajaram I
Rajaram I was a notable Maratha king who reigned in the late 17th century, specifically from 1700 to 1707. He was the younger son of the famous Maratha leader Shivaji Maharaj. Rajaram ascended to the throne during a challenging time, as he faced significant challenges from the Mughal Empire. To escape Mughal forces, he moved his court to the fort of Raigad and continued the resistance against Mughal rule. His leadership strengthened Maratha resilience and laid the groundwork for future Maratha success. Rajaram's reign is remembered for his commitment to the sovereignty and freedom of the Maratha Empire.
