
Raj Kumar Shukla
Raj Kumar Shukla was an Indian farmer and a key figure in India's struggle for independence. He is best known for his role in the Champaran Satyagraha of 1917, where he led a protest against the oppressive policies imposed on farmers by British planters in Bihar. Shukla approached Mahatma Gandhi, urging him to help the farmers fight against exploitation. Gandhi's involvement in Champaran marked the beginning of his involvement in the Indian independence movement. Shukla’s efforts highlighted the plight of farmers and contributed to the larger movement against colonial rule in India.
