Radiofrequency Ablation

Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a medical procedure used in interventional pulmonology to treat lung tumors or lesions. It involves inserting a thin electrode into the targeted area of the lung, which uses radiofrequency energy to generate heat and destroy cancerous cells. This minimally invasive technique is performed under imaging guidance and can reduce tumor size or alleviate symptoms, often with less recovery time than traditional surgery. RFA is usually considered for patients who may not be suitable for surgery or who prefer a less invasive option.
