R.I.C.E.

R.I.C.E. stands for Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation, a common approach to managing minor injuries like sprains or strains. Rest involves avoiding activities that cause pain. Applying Ice helps reduce swelling and numbs the area. Compression, using an elastic bandage, minimizes swelling and provides support. Elevation means raising the injured area above heart level to decrease blood flow and swelling. Following R.I.C.E. can help control pain, limit swelling, and promote healing in the initial stages after an injury. However, persistent pain or severe injuries should be evaluated by a healthcare professional.
