Quraish
The Quraish was a prominent tribe in the Arabian Peninsula during the time of Prophet Muhammad, around the 6th and 7th centuries CE. They were influential in trade and politics, controlling the Kaaba in Mecca, which made the city a religious and commercial center. The Quraish were initially resistant to Muhammad’s teachings, which challenged their social and economic status. Over time, many members of the tribe converted to Islam, and the Quraish played a significant role in the early spread of the religion. Their historical significance continues to be recognized in Islamic history.
