Quantum suicide

Quantum suicide is a thought experiment suggesting that, in a parallel universe framework like the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics, an observer’s consciousness only continues if they survive a quantum event. For example, if a device has a 50% chance to kill the observer, they will only be aware of instances where they survive. From their perspective, it appears they can never die, since they only experience outcomes where they continue to exist. This raises questions about consciousness and measurement in quantum mechanics, illustrating how different possible outcomes coexist but only the surviving one is subjectively experienced.
