Quantitative PCR

Quantitative PCR (qPCR) is a laboratory technique used to measure the amount of specific DNA in a sample. It works by copying targeted DNA sequences repeatedly, so their amount increases exponentially. During this process, a special dye is used that fluoresces—or glows—more intensely as more DNA is produced. By monitoring the fluorescence in real-time, scientists can determine how much of a particular DNA sequence was present initially. This method is widely used in research, healthcare, and diagnostics to quantify genetic material, detect infections, or analyze gene expression with high accuracy and sensitivity.
