The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) was a UK organization responsible for setting and maintaining standards in education. Established to oversee the curriculum and qualifications for schools, it played a crucial role in ensuring that students receive a consistent and high-quality education. QCA developed National Curriculum guidelines and assessed the effectiveness of various qualifications, such as GCSEs and A-levels. Although it merged into the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) and other bodies in 2012, its legacy continues to influence education standards and testing in the UK.
