Puerto Rican Legislative Assembly

The Puerto Rican Legislative Assembly is the legislative branch of the government of Puerto Rico, responsible for making laws. It consists of two parts: the Senate and the House of Representatives. Senators and representatives are elected by the people to represent their interests. The Assembly debates and votes on legislation, including the budget and various policies affecting the territory. While Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory and its residents are U.S. citizens, the Legislative Assembly has limited power, as the U.S. Congress ultimately regulates many aspects of governance, including federal laws applicable to Puerto Rico.
