Pterygium

Pterygium is a growth of tissue on the surface of the eye, typically on the cornea, which can appear as a triangular or wedge-shaped bump. It often develops due to prolonged exposure to sunlight, dust, or wind, particularly in people who spend a lot of time outdoors. This condition can cause irritation, redness, and, in some cases, affect vision if it grows large enough to cover the pupil. Pterygium can usually be managed with eye drops for symptoms, but surgery may be required if it becomes bothersome or obstructs vision.
