Pterosaurs

Pterosaurs were flying reptiles that lived during the age of dinosaurs, roughly 228 to 66 million years ago. Not dinosaurs themselves, they belonged to a group called archosaurs, which also includes crocodiles and birds. Pterosaurs had wings formed by a membrane of skin stretched over elongated finger bones, allowing them to glide and soar through the air. They varied in size from small to as large as a small plane. They inhabited coastal regions and inland areas, feeding on fish, aquatic animals, and sometimes small terrestrial creatures. Their unique wing structure makes them a fascinating example of evolutionary adaptation for flight.
