Protein C Deficiency
Protein C deficiency is a condition where the body lacks enough protein C, a natural substance that helps prevent blood clots from forming too easily. Without enough protein C, blood can clot improperly, increasing the risk of deep vein thrombosis (clots in veins), pulmonary embolism (clots in lungs), and other clot-related problems. It can be inherited or acquired. While some may experience no symptoms, others may face serious clotting events. Treatment typically involves blood-thinning medications to reduce the risk of dangerous clots and complications.
