Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia
The Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia was a territory in Central Europe, mainly consisting of the Czech lands, under Nazi Germany's control from 1939 to 1945. Created after Germany occupied Czechoslovakia, it was governed as a safeguard under German authority, with Czech local administration existing under strict supervision. The protectorate faced oppressive policies, censorship, and economic exploitation during World War II, as Germany used it for military and industrial purposes. It ended with Germany’s defeat, leading to the restoration of Czechoslovakia’s independence and the re-establishment of its sovereignty.
