projection

Projection is a psychological process where a person unconsciously attributes their own thoughts, feelings, or motives to others. Essentially, they see their own attributes reflected in someone else, often to avoid recognizing uncomfortable truths about themselves. For example, if someone is feeling angry but doesn't want to admit it, they might accuse others of being angry instead. This defense mechanism helps protect their self-image but can lead to misunderstandings. Projection is a way our mind manages internal conflicts, often operating without our awareness, influencing how we perceive and interact with the world around us.
