Professional Development Schools
Professional Development Schools (PDS) are collaborative partnerships between universities and K-12 schools aimed at improving teacher education and student learning. In these settings, aspiring teachers gain practical experience by working directly in classroom environments alongside experienced teachers, while university faculty observe and support their development. PDSs foster ongoing professional growth, shared research, and innovative teaching practices, creating a community focused on continuous improvement in education. Essentially, they serve as living laboratories where educators learn from real-world teaching, ultimately benefiting students through more effective and well-prepared teachers.
