Prince of Serbia

The "Prince of Serbia" was a noble title held by the leader of Serbia before it became a republic. Historically, it signified the ruler of the territory during the Ottoman Empire's decline, with the most notable prince being Karađorđe (Karageorge) in early uprisings. Later, the title was held by the Karađorđević dynasty, which established Serbia's autonomous and then independent status in the 19th and early 20th centuries. As the head of state, the prince wielded significant political authority, guiding Serbia through modernization and independence before transitioning to a constitutional monarchy or other form of governance.
