Presidential Disability
Presidential disability refers to situations where the President of the United States becomes unable to perform their duties, whether due to health issues, injury, or other reasons. The U.S. Constitution and the 25th Amendment provide a process for temporarily or permanently transferring power to the Vice President when the President cannot fulfill their role. This involves the President voluntarily declaring their disability or the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet confirming the President’s inability. Once the President recovers, they can reclaim their duties, ensuring continuity of leadership while addressing temporary or ongoing incapacity.
