Preforms
Preforms are essentially the raw, semi-finished versions of plastic bottles, typically made from PET (polyethylene terephthalate). They are small, test-tube-shaped pieces molded with the bottle's final design features, including threads for caps. These preforms are produced through injection molding and then heated and blown into the final bottle shape through a separate process called blow molding. Using preforms allows manufacturers to efficiently produce and distribute bottles globally, as they can be shipped in a compact form and then easily transformed into the finished bottles using specialized machinery.
