prediabetes

Prediabetes is a health condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not yet high enough to be classified as diabetes. It indicates your body is starting to have trouble managing glucose, often due to insulin resistance. Prediabetes increases the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke if lifestyle changes are not made. It is common and often shows no symptoms, but can be detected through blood tests. Making healthy changes, such as eating well, exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy weight, and avoiding tobacco, can significantly reduce the risk of progressing to type 2 diabetes.
