Praxiteles
Praxiteles was a renowned ancient Greek sculptor from the 4th century BCE, celebrated for his artistry in creating lifelike marble statues. He pioneered the depiction of the human body with natural grace and soft, sensual curves, moving away from the more rigid and formal styles of earlier Greek sculpture. His most famous work, the Venus of Cnidos, was the first full-sized sculpture of the goddess Aphrodite and emphasized beauty, realism, and gentle femininity. Praxiteles' innovative approach influenced Greek art and set new standards for expressing human beauty and emotion in sculpture.
