Post-doctoral research

Post-doctoral research, often called a postdoc, is an advanced training stage for researchers who have recently earned their doctoral degree (Ph.D.). During this period, they work in a specialized area of study, conducting independent research to deepen their expertise, contribute new knowledge, and develop skills for academic or industry careers. It typically lasts one to a few years and involves collaboration with other experts, publishing papers, and sometimes mentoring students. Essentially, a postdoc is a stepping stone to establishing oneself as a leading researcher in their field.
