Poppy Appeal
The Poppy Appeal is an annual fundraising campaign organized by The Royal British Legion in the UK and other Commonwealth countries. It takes place around Remembrance Day, which is observed on November 11th to honor military personnel who have died in conflicts. The appeal raises money by selling paper poppies, symbolizing remembrance, and the funds support veterans and their families, providing vital services such as financial assistance, rehabilitation, and emotional support. The red poppy became a symbol of remembrance following World War I, inspired by the poem "In Flanders Fields."
