Polyclonal antibodies
Polyclonal antibodies are a diverse group of immune proteins produced by different immune cells in response to a specific substance, known as an antigen. They recognize and bind to multiple parts (epitopes) of that antigen, providing a broad defense. In scientific and medical applications, polyclonal antibodies are often used for detection and research because they can identify various regions of an antigen, making them effective in situations where recognizing multiple parts enhances accuracy. Their natural diversity allows for robust detection, but they can vary between batches, unlike monoclonal antibodies, which are identical.
