Political parties in Germany

Germany has a multi-party political system, with parties representing a range of ideologies. The major parties include the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and its sister party, the Christian Social Union (CSU), which are center-right and conservative; the Social Democratic Party (SPD), center-left; the Green Party, focusing on environmental issues and social justice; the Free Democratic Party (FDP), promoting liberal economic policies; and The Left, advocating for social equality. The Alternative for Germany (AfD) is a right-wing party.
