Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing)
Poka-Yoke, often called "error proofing," is a quality control technique used in Lean Operations to prevent mistakes before they happen. It involves designing processes, tools, or systems that make it impossible to carry out an error-prone action or that provide immediate feedback when something goes wrong. For example, a machine might be designed so that it can only be operated with the correct part in place. By anticipating potential errors and eliminating them, Poka-Yoke helps improve quality, efficiency, and safety, ultimately leading to a smoother workflow and higher customer satisfaction.
