Point Barrow (Barrow)
Point Barrow, also known simply as Barrow, is the northernmost point of the mainland of the United States, located in Alaska. It is situated above the Arctic Circle and experiences extreme weather, including long periods of darkness in winter and continuous daylight in summer. Historically, it has been an important area for the Iñupiat people, who rely on the region's marine resources. The town of Utqiaġvik, formerly known as Barrow, is the main settlement and serves as a hub for science, culture, and the oil industry, as well as a point of interest for climate change discussions.
