Iñupiat people

The Iñupiat are an Indigenous Arctic people native to northern Alaska, particularly along the coast of the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas. They have a rich cultural heritage centered around hunting, fishing, and subsistence living in harsh Arctic conditions. Traditionally, they rely on hunting marine mammals like whales, seals, and walrus, as well as fishing and gathering. They speak the Iñupiaq language and maintain strong community ties, emphasizing respect for nature and elders. Today, the Iñupiat balance preserving their cultural traditions with adapting to modern life, playing an important role in the social and cultural fabric of Alaska.
