Pleiades
The Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters, is a prominent star cluster visible to the naked eye in the constellation Taurus. It contains hundreds of stars, but only a few brighter ones are easily seen without telescopes or binoculars. These stars are young, hot, and close to Earth—about 440 light-years away. The cluster formed from a giant cloud of gas and dust about 100 million years ago. Its striking appearance and cultural significance have made the Pleiades a well-known symbol in various myths and traditions worldwide.
