Playboy Clubs
Playboy Clubs were upscale entertainment venues established by Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner in the 1960s. They featured stylish decor, a glamorous atmosphere, and iconic Playboy Bunnies—waitstaff dressed in distinctive bunny costumes. The clubs offered a mix of dining, live entertainment, and socializing, catering to a well-heeled clientele. The original club opened in Chicago in 1960, and others followed in major cities. Over the years, they became symbols of the sexual revolution and sophistication but faced criticism for their objectification of women. The last original club closed in 1988, although some attempts to revive the concept have occurred since then.
