Planning Commission (India)
The Planning Commission of India was an agency responsible for formulating and overseeing the country's economic development plans. Established in 1950, it coordinated resources, set growth targets, and allocated funds to various sectors to achieve national development goals. The commission played a key role in guiding economic policies, infrastructure projects, and social programs. In 2015, it was replaced by the NITI Aayog, which now serves as the primary think tank and policy advisory body to promote cooperative federalism and sustainable development.
