Pituitary Dwarfism
Pituitary dwarfism is a condition where a person has significantly short stature due to insufficient growth hormone produced by the pituitary gland, a small gland at the base of the brain. This hormone is crucial for normal growth and development. Unlike other forms of dwarfism, which may be caused by genetic factors or bone development issues, pituitary dwarfism specifically relates to hormonal deficiency. People with this condition often have a proportional body size and may reach a height of 4 feet or less. Treatment typically involves growth hormone therapy to help achieve a more average height.
