Pilgram Marpeck
Pilgram Marpeck (1495–1556) was a prominent Swiss-German reformer and theologian during the Protestant Reformation. He sought to promote a peaceful, moderate approach to religious change, emphasizing personal faith and moral integrity. Marpeck was influential in shaping Anabaptist thought, advocating for adult baptism and religious freedom. Despite his reformist ideas, he maintained a commitment to community harmony and rejected violent conflict. His writings and leadership contributed significantly to the development of Mennonite beliefs and the broader reform movement in southwestern Germany and Switzerland.
