Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS)
The Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) was a program established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to encourage healthcare providers to report information about the quality of care they deliver to patients. By participating, doctors and other healthcare professionals could earn financial incentives for providing high-quality services. The program aimed to improve healthcare outcomes by focusing on specific measures, such as patient outcomes and satisfaction. PQRS has since evolved into the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), which continues the focus on quality measurement in healthcare.
