Physeter macrocephalus

Physeter macrocephalus, commonly known as the sperm whale, is a large marine mammal distinguished by its massive, block-shaped head that houses a large brain and a complex system for echolocation. As the largest of the toothed whales, it can grow up to 20-60 feet long and weigh up to 57 tons. Sperm whales primarily feed on squid and are found worldwide in deep ocean waters. They are social animals, often traveling in tight-knit groups, and are known for their deep-diving abilities, reaching depths of up to 2,000 meters in search of food.
