Photographic chemicals

Photographic chemicals are substances used in traditional film photography to capture and develop images. They typically include light-sensitive compounds like silver halides embedded in emulsion layers on film or paper. When exposed to light, these chemicals react to form a latent image that becomes visible after chemical processing. Development involves solutions that reduce exposed silver halides to metallic silver, creating the visible picture. Fixers then remove unexposed silver halides, making the image permanent and no longer sensitive to light. These chemicals work together to transform a latent image into a stable, visible photograph.
