Philip V of Spain
Philip V of Spain (1683–1746) was the first Bourbon king of Spain, ruling from 1700, with a brief interruption during his exile. His reign marked the beginning of Bourbon dynasty's influence, implementing administrative reforms and centralizing royal authority. He faced significant conflicts, notably the War of Spanish Succession, resulting in territorial changes and strengthening Spain's European alliances. Philip's rule helped modernize Spain's government, although he also dealt with financial challenges and opposition from nobility. His leadership set the stage for future modernization efforts and shaped Spain’s political landscape in the 18th century.
