Philae

Philae was a European space probe launched in 2014 to study Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. It was deployed from the Rosetta spacecraft and intended to land gently on the comet’s surface to analyze its composition and structure. Despite some challenges—such as bouncing upon landing—it provided valuable scientific data about the comet's icy, dusty interior and helped deepen our understanding of the early solar system. Philae's mission was a significant achievement in planetary science, demonstrating advanced landing and sampling techniques on a comet.
