Pharaoh Psamtik I was an ancient Egyptian ruler from the 26th Dynasty, reigning around 664-610 BCE. He is known for reunifying Egypt after a period of decline and foreign influence, strengthening the economy and military. Psamtik I restored stability, built infrastructure, and expanded Egypt’s influence through diplomacy and warfare. His rule marked the beginning of a brief period of renewed independence and strength before Persia eventually conquered Egypt.
