Phalanges
Phalanges are the bones that make up the fingers and toes. In each hand and foot, they are arranged in a series of small bones, allowing for precise movements and dexterity. Each finger has three phalanges (proximal, middle, and distal), except the thumb, which has two, while toes generally follow a similar pattern. These bones provide structural support, enable gripping and pointing, and are essential for balance and locomotion. Their design allows for both strength and flexibility, making them vital for everyday tasks and communication through gestures.
