PEX-c

PEX-c, or Polished External X-ray Coagulation, is a minimally invasive surgical technique used to treat certain heart valve issues, especially aortic aneurysms and dissections. It involves making small incision(s) to access the affected area, then carefully removing or reinforcing diseased parts of the blood vessel or heart tissue. The procedure often includes applying specialized coatings or finishes to the vessel’s exterior to promote healing and reduce the risk of complications. PEX-c aims to restore normal blood flow and strengthen the vessel or valve, improving heart function with less trauma and quicker recovery compared to traditional open surgeries.
