PESCO (Permanent Structured Cooperation)

Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) is an initiative within the European Union aimed at enhancing defense collaboration among member states. It allows countries that are willing and able to work more closely together on security and defense projects, such as joint military training, sharing resources, and developing new technologies. PESCO helps strengthen the EU's overall defense capabilities, improves coordination among military forces, and ensures that members can respond more effectively to global security challenges while maintaining national sovereignty in their defense policies. Established in 2017, it reflects a commitment to deeper cooperation in European security.
