Persian Languages

Persian languages, primarily represented by Persian (Farsi), Dari, and Tajik, belong to the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. Spoken mainly in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, these languages share a common historical and linguistic heritage. Persian, with its rich literary tradition, significantly influenced art and poetry in the region. While Persian serves as the official language of Iran, Dari is an official language of Afghanistan, and Tajik is spoken in Tajikistan, often using the Cyrillic script. Each variant has unique dialects and vocabulary, yet they remain mutually intelligible to varying degrees.
